adidas' Urban Reverie quietly proves that kicks don't need laces to be good.

I say, laces, shmaces, really. Nothing beats slipping into some sneakers, especially if they're as cool as the Urban Reverie.

The adidas model offers up a trendy low-profile silhouette wrapped in sumptuous textures and fashionable designs.

Of course, the best part about the slim adidas sneaker is the ability to literally strap in and go, thanks to the single-strap "lace" system.

For the most part, the adidas Urban Reverie has appeared in smooth suede options, with an occasional shiny metallic option here and there. Right now, there are grey and red suede colorways available on adidas Hong Kong's website for HK$ 899.00, or around $115.

Last year, sneakers lost their soles as flatter styles took over the fashion world. Next up, brands are coming for your laces.

We've already seen several low-profile adidas models go lace-free, such as the Tokyo MJ. At the same time, Caroline Hu reimagined the Taekwondo Mei as a strappy girlcore sneaker, while Stella McCartney made her own kind of sporty ballerina sneaker.

Sometimes, great shoes are best served laceless. And these styles are proof.
