Apple has denied claims it has been hit with a ban on the sale and import of a number of iPhone models in China, reports the BBC.

The company is currently embroiled in an intellectual property dispute with US chipmaker Qualcomm, which alleges that features in iOS violated a number of its patents.

It was reported on Monday that Chinese courts had granted Qualcomm a temporary injunction on the sale of a number of iPhone models. Apple says it has launched an immediate appeal and that all of its iPhone models remain on sale in the country.

Two of Qualcomm's patents were found to have been violated. The first is to do with image resizing, while the second relates to the layout of apps on the touchscreen.

"Apple continues to benefit from our intellectual property while refusing to compensate us," said Qualcomm general counsel Don Rosenberg.

Apple, meanwhile, called the injunction "another desperate move by a company whose illegal practices are under investigation by regulators around the world," adding that it would pursue every legal option available.

The two companies have been involved in a legal tug-of-war since January 2017, when Apple filed lawsuits claiming Qualcomm was abusing its dominant share of the chipmaking market.
