Reports reveal that Apple could be using a smaller battery for the iPhone 12 in comparison to its predecessor.

The battery sizes for the different iPhone 12 models have surfaced on certification platforms UL Demko, Safety Korea, and 3C, suggesting the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will have a 2,227 mAh battery, while the 6.1-inch Max and 6.1-inch Pro will use a 2,775 mAh battery. The 6.7-inch Pro Max is reported to feature a 3,687 mAh battery.

To compare, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max have 3,046 mAh and 3,969 mAh batteries, respectively, as Apple made it a point to improve the battery life.

Some insiders expect the iPhone 12 to be more energy efficient, however, thus allowing for smaller sized batteries.

In other Apple news, reports suggest the iPhone 12 will come with a new braided USB-C to Lightning cable, similar in durability and thickness to cords that come with the Mac Pro and HomePod. The USB-C would provide a 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes.
