Double Tap to Zoom

It sounds like Apple hasn't given up on its plan to drop a couple of foldable phones, even if they will be arriving approximately five years after news of their (conceptual) existence first broke.

According to MacRumors, two folding cells have passed durability tests at the Foxconn factory in Shenzhen, China. One design apparently looks similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip and the other features two screens connected by a hinge, which might alleviate any worries about the display creasing or cracking with repeated use. (Also, in case you were worried, per tech analyst Jon Prosser, the hinge doesn't mean the phone looks like two different ones smushed together; when extended the design is apparently seamless.)

Conversations concerning the foldable phones first started circulating back in 2017. Subsequent reports suggested that the tech giant was aiming for a 2020 release date. Clearly, that didn't happen. Now it's thought that the new models could release in 2022 or 2023.

Updates to follow.
