Editor's Notes: As we spiral into the final months of the year, BAPE looks set to give New Balance a run for its money in the collaborative sneakerscape. Collaborations are coming in fast and hot as A Bathing Ape paints the industry in camouflage, with drops alongside ASICS, Timberland, CDG, Reebok, Stadium Goods – the list goes on.
In and amongst the footwear team-ups, a few apparel lines have alongside risen to the surface. Most recently, BAPE tapped Barbour to leave its mark on some iconic Wax jackets.
Californian head honchos, Vans, are lucky enough to be doubling down, delivering a collaborative collection including sneakers and apparel.
Taking a strip down the runway is the Sk8-Hi 38 DX and Authentic 44 DX. Anybody that has rocked a pair of Off The Walls in their years will probably have owned one of these two silhouettes. They're your bread and butter low and high top sneaker and make for the perfect canvas to get dipped in BAPE.
The Sk8-Hi 38 DX takes on the BAPE’s ABC camo outline in black and white, creating a sketch-like aesthetic that mirrors the sneaker's traditional monochrome palette. For the Authentic 44 DX, on the other hand, a more familiar pattern is used, filling the full length of the ripstop canvas in BAPE's original camo print.
Both pairs are set to release alongside a co-branded hoodie, available in black and grey.
