BEAMS understands the beauty of an Arc’teryx jacket better than most. The Japanese retailer identified the stylishness of the Canadian company’s high-tech clobber long before “quiet outdoor” trend reports and “gorpcore” Instagram accounts, leading to it becoming Japan’s first domestic Arc’teryx retailer.

But that was the late ‘90s. Today, the duo’s relationship has deepened to where BEAMS is the only stockist creating truly artful Arc’teryx outdoor gear that’s become downright collectible on the secondhand market.

The BEAMS x Arc’teryx Blaze Beta jacket is the latest addition — or is it?

Arc’teryx’s Beta shell jacket, made with a durable 80-denier outer nylon reinforced with a PFC-free GORE-TEX membrane, is rendered an intense fiery orange hue lightly contrasted by dark orange zippers.

It’s an uninhibited color palette that’s largely revealed to be considered by the jacket’s tonal detailing, recalling BEAMS’ previous pastel-blue “Glacial” Arc’teryx collection and its previous monochrome Olive Moss range.

But whereas those previous collections have been hard-to-find one-offs and, in the case of its famous patchworked jackets, demanded big resale prices, the Blaze Beta jacket will be far less limited.

While BEAMS has snagged the exclusive Japanese rights to sell these orange Arc’teryx jackets, they’re available from other retailers worldwide.

In fact, the “Blaze” jacket is available from Arc’teryx’s US shop for $400. Never has BEAMS-approved Arc’teryx been more accessible.
