Sneaker loafers, once a footwear oddity, are now as commonplace as regular skate shoes and horoscopes. Now, with the help of Tokyo-based retailer BILLY’S, Vans is combining these two seemingly unrelated concepts to create some super sick zodiac-inspired loafers.

Vans' "Year of The Horse" collection is a wearable homage to the Chinese zodiac, expressed through horse-hair loafers. I mean, it's only right that the Year of the Horse loafer is made with mane-like pony hair.

In addition to the hair-like textiles, the Vans skate loafer is also made with smooth leather and suede, adding some textural depth to the simple shoe.

Beyond having its very own mane, the shred-happy loafer also features a removable tassel and patterned insoles that match the jockey-style vests that round out the seasonal collection.

Available on the BILLY’S website for $90, this loafer is one of many Lunar New Year collaborations between Vans and BILLY’S. Last year, in honor of the Year of the Snake, the duo dropped two scale-covered Authentic colorways.

For the Year of the Rabbit, BILLY’S dropped some adorable bunny-covered Vans slip-ons as well, though sans rabbit hair.

Honestly, what better way to start the new year than with a super sick shoe that directly references the animal of the moment? Even if no one else is taking their New Year's resolutions seriously, Vans sure is.
