Following Aladdin, Dumbo, and The Lion King, it looks like Disney’s Bambi is the latest children’s classic that will get a live-action remake. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Disney has confirmed the remake and has hired Captain Marvel’s Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Chaos Walking’s Lindsey Beer to write the script.

The news was first reported by the Hollywood Reporter, who claims that the new Bambi will be done in the same style as the Jungle Book and The Lion King, where animals aren’t actually real but made to look as if they were.

Bambi debuted in 1942 and won three Oscars upon its initial release. Stay tuned for further updates.
