When Benjamin Védrines, the fastest person to summit an 8,000-meter peak, was planning his next record-breaking ascent, he was also developing the ultimate mountaineering sunglasses with District Vision. The LA running label custom-made Védrines’ high-tech climbing shades, going as far as to use 3D facial scanning to create a chassis that fits Védrines’ features perfectly; then, in October 2025, Védrines wore the glasses while becoming the first person to ascend the east summit of the Nepalese mountain Jannu together with his climbing partner Nicolas Jean.

The French alpinist is District Vision’s first formal athlete partner; and now, a limited-edition, one-size-fits-all version of his shades has been released in a run of only 30 units.

Officially known as the District Vision “Yusuke Ti Benjamin Védrines, Graphite/D+ Onyx Mirror,” these glasses are Védrines’ take on the brand’s Yusuke Ti model and utilize the same lightweight aerospace-grade titanium frame.

However, Védrines’ version streamlines the Yusuke Ti’s oversized lens so that, as District Vision describes it, the glasses act  “as a protective shield for the eyes and face,” with ventilation slits added to the edges to support airflow at high altitudes.

The lens itself is District Vision’s “D+ Onyx Mirror,” developed for maximum sun protection with an anti-reflective coating and an oil-repellent coating alongside a mirror coating to protect against infrared light.

Of course, all this impressive technology doesn’t come cheap. The Yusuke Ti Benjamin Védrines glasses cost $650, joining District Vision's Aiko glasses at the top end of “swaggy” sportswear brand’s Japan-made eyewear.
