Just as Drake's Certified Lover Boy divided the internet, the rapper's latest release — the NOCTA x Nike/NOCTA Hot Step Air Terra — is garnering mixed reactions.

When leaked images of the sneaker first surfaced, some are characterized the silhouette as a "certified miss" through Instagram comments. Comparisons to K-Swiss' white kicks and FILA's Disruptor abound.

One particularly pointed comment reads, "The retirement home is gonna love this." Ouch!

In August 2021, @pvasneakers gave fans their first close-up look at the “White/Chrome” Hot Step Air Terra — a silhouette showcased in white tumbled leather with a paneled upper. Metallic silver accents serve to complement the base, while an exposed Air unit is implemented at the heel.

Drake himself offered another angle of the Hot Step Air Terra when he wore it in his “Laugh Now Cry Later” music video.

Since then, he has been spotted in the shoe multiple times on Instagram, including snakeskin and black colorways.

Early reports suggested the Hot Step Air Terra would release in fall 2021 for $150, which did not happen.

Similarly, the "Certified Lover Boy" Air Force 1 was intended to drop many months ago but no dice.

Nevertheless, Drake is keeping the hype alive with a fresh campaign video, suggesting that the shoes drop sooner, rather than later. Perhaps they'll accompany the NOCTA gear he wore to the Super Bowl?
