Editor’s Notes: One of the ’90s’ best-selling skate shoes is making a comeback. The Globe CT-IV was first released in 2000 and is a chunky behemoth on par with the likes of the Osiris D3 and other skate shoes of the same era.

Globe was established in 1994 by brothers Peter, Matt, and Stephen Hill. Legendary skaters such as Chet Thomas and Rodney Mullen were signed to the brand, with the former getting his own pro-model, dubbed the CT.

Back in its heyday, the CT-IV was one of the bulkiest and most popular skate shoes around. Now, Globe is re-releasing one of its most iconic sneakers.

Speaking to Sneaker Freaker last year, Thomas said “The CT-IV is a shoe I'm really proud of. There are only a small handful of shoes from that era that stood out from the pack and are remembered by the industry, skateboarders and emulators. The CT-IV is one of them.

“Everything always seems to come full circle in skateboarding, so it's not a big surprise that the classic CT-IV has been re-issued and the chunky look is re-emerging.”
