Highsnobiety and Google Pixel are proud to announce the launch of the Pixel Institute of Fashion & Technology (PIFT)

A yearlong initiative designed to empower the next generation of creative entrepreneurs at the intersection of fashion and technology. Part learning environment, part collaborative platform, PIFT seeks to challenge conventional norms and open doors to those shaping the future of fashion. By combining structured learning, mentorship, and hands-on projects, the program aims to democratize access to tools, knowledge, and networks that have traditionally been reserved for a select few.

Google Pixel has a history of supporting groundbreaking creative projects, redefining what technology can do for artists and storytellers.

Last year, filmmaker Gia Coppola created EDIE, a short film capturing the surrealism of Hollywood Boulevard. Shot entirely on the Google Pixel 10 Pro, the film turned the smartphone into an essential filmmaking tool, blurring the lines between professional and accessible storytelling. Coppola’s project demonstrated how Pixel can democratize creativity, empowering individuals to bring professional-quality visions to life with nothing more than a phone and imagination.

Now, Google is bringing this ethos to the world of fashion. PIFT marks a first-of-its-kind collaboration where fashion, technology, and entrepreneurship meet, providing a platform for designers to explore and experiment while developing sustainable, scalable businesses.

At the heart of the program is the Class of 2026, a cohort of six designers, each bringing a distinct perspective and a fully formed creative identity.

The first major moment for PIFT students will take place at Milan Design Week, introducing audiences to the purpose and value of the program. The event will showcase the designers and their practices, providing an intimate look at how each participant approaches storytelling, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship.

A highlight of the Milan event is the Build-A-Brand workshop, where Google and Highsnobiety experts will guide audiences in creating a fashion brand from scratch using only Google Pixels and ingenuity. Across modules, participants explore the current state of fashion and technology, see live brand-building demonstrations, learn the art of visual storytelling from photographer and director Campbell Addy, and discover how to capture compelling imagery using Pixel’s tools, led by Hugo Comte. The event emphasizes practical knowledge and experimentation, giving audiences a first-hand glimpse into the future of fashion creation.
