Move over JAY and Bey, Ja Rule and Ashanti are looking to rejoin forces and drop their own joint album. Following the release of The Carters' EVERYTHING IS LOVE, which is currently the number two album in the country, Ashanti revealed that a project with longtime collaborator Ja Rule could very well be in the works.

"Listen, me and Rule, it's so funny because we've been talking about that for so long, but I think now he's like, 'OK, now it's time to do it,'" she revealed when speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the BET Awards on Sunday. "So we're going to carve out the time and make it happen," she added.

Prior to Ashanti's interview, Ja had taken to social media to hint at the possibility of such an album.

"Iconnic... The Carters... New album is dope!!! @ashanti I think we should do one of these joint albums," he Tweeted.

Ja Rule and Ashanti have of course joined forces on more than one occasion, most recently on "Helpless" from 2016's The Hamilton Mixtape. The two previously unleashed such jams as "Always on Time," "Mesmerize," "Wonderful," and "Down 4 U."
