Kim Jones is an ardent collector. Whether it's clothes, artwork, or sneakers (of which he is known to have over 500 pairs), the artistic director's passion for rare items is clearly reflected in his fashion collections for Dior.

Now, Jones is lending his curatorial eye to Sotheby's auction house for its Contemporary Curated Sale, which includes artworks spanning the last seven decades from the collections of Pat and Michael York, Thomas A Bernard, Marc Jacobs, and more.

Jones has chosen his favorite works from a collection of over 250 pieces. You can see Jones's contemporary taste reflected in his predilection for pieces by KAWS, whom Jones refers to as a "Warhol-like figure to the younger generation."

Elsewhere, there are David Hockney paintings, a jewel-lined trench coat from Chicago-based artist Nick Cave, and work from artist Raymond Pettibon who Jones has also collaborated with.

You'll be able to view the works in person at Sotheby's York Avenue galleries beginning February 28. In the meantime, view the full line-up of Jones' auction items in the galley above. Look for the auction to take place on March 6.
