Nike and the NBA introduced four new uniform categories last year with the Association, Icon, Statement and City Edition to formalize their eight-year partnership, and today, the Swoosh has unveiled the Los Angeles Lakers' Icon jersey featuring its newly acquired superstar, LeBron James.

Each jersey edition essentially has a purpose, celebrating elements of the league’s 30 franchises, as well as paying respects to the past and present of the clubs. The new Lakers Icon Swingman jersey utilizes elements of the '80s Showtime era (led by Magic Johnson's passing skills and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's scoring), as the silhouette boasts updated numbers, which use a vertical drop shadow, along with a rounded neckline, while the font effect references the Lakers' storied past.

The new Lakers Icon Swingman jersey is now available for purchase at select Nike retailers and online.
