Beloved true crime series, Unsolved Mysteries, is set to return thanks to Netflix and the producers of Stranger Things. This week the streaming service has shared the official trailer for the reboot, while simultaneously announcing a July 1 premiere date.

Netflix will be delivering 12 all-new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries, focusing on real-life people who have experienced unthinkable trauma, from horrific deaths and unexplained disappearances, to paranormal encounters and beyond. The show will have no host, as original series lead Robert Stack passed away in 2003. There will be new elements to the series, however, as viewers are encouraged to interact and provide any relevant information to the proper authorities.

Unsolved Mysteries will now be more interactive than ever,” said producers Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove. “Members can press pause to study a photo or document. They can rewind and revisit case details at any time—options that weren’t available to our early followers.”

“When an episode concludes, anyone with relevant information is directed to unsolved.com and, if applicable, a law enforcement agency,” they went on to add. “We’ve staffed up to ensure that leads are quickly passed to the appropriate parties.”

Unsolved Mysteries originally aired on NBC from 1987 to 1997, CBS from 1997 to 1999, Lifetime from 2001 to 2002, and Spike from 2008 to 2010. You can watch the first six episodes of the reboot — from the creators of the original docu-series — beginning July 1 on Netflix.
