Editor's Notes: The start of fall means one thing. Halloween is upon us.

In the same way you can gauge our proximity to Christmas through the Coca-cola truck adverts, the appearance of a new "Skeleton" series Nike Air Force 1 Low is a pretty good indication that we're headed into spooky season.

First making waves in 2018, the AF1 "Skeleton" series proved to be an instant success, taking a well-known, globally loved sneaker and giving it somewhat of an unorthodox update. Since then, the series has become a traditional part of Nike's annual release calendar, marking the tail end of the year.

Over the past three years, we've seen the silhouette release in "White," "Black," and "Orange," with "Purple" taking the reigns for the 2021 iteration.

Just like previous iterations, the upcoming release features an x-ray image of the human foot against the lateral side of the leather sidewall and insoles. If that isn't enough to get you into the spirit of the holiday, the iconic chunky sole unit and lace Dubre both glow in the dark to give you an edge over all of your trick-or-treat competitors.

What differentiates this from previous releases is the deep "Court Purple" leather that sits across the full length of the upper, providing the same heavy contrasts seen on the "Black Skeleton" pair.

As the Swoosh marks its fourth iteration of the series, we're left wondering what colorways will follow in the years to come.
