Nike didn't come to Air Max Day empty-handed.

The Air Liquid Max is the brand's biggest new silhouette in years, and it's not here to make friends. Inspired by the poison dart frog, the three-layer textured upper practically ribbits with its blend of dramatic shades of green, paired with a chrome Swoosh and a tinted translucent outsole.

From a distance, it reads almost uniform. Up close, three print layers at different heights create something that's genuinely hard to look away from.

The poison dart frog uses its colours as a warning system. Nike had exactly the same energy in mind.

Underfoot, the point-loaded Air system places cushioning only where it's actually needed, flexible, low to the ground, and surrounded by recessed negative space that sheds weight without sacrificing structure.

Stacked on top of a drop-in Cushlon midsole, every step feels fluid. Nike isn't overselling it when they say it's one of the most comfortable Air Max shoes to date.

Love it or hate it, and people will, the Air Liquid Max is exactly what Air Max Day should feel like. A real swing. A genuine statement. Something that makes you stop scrolling.
