Nike recently unveiled a new Air Max model, the 720, featuring the “tallest airbag in history.” Already we've seen the 720 sole tooling used on a variety of other hybrid sneakers such as the recently-unveiled Jordan Brand Protomax 720.

Now Nike has attached its 720 Max Air sole to a women’s sandal, creating a hybrid sneaker sandal of monstrous proportions. Dubbed the Air Max FF7720, the footwear offering is part of Nike’s summer 2019 lineup for women.

It features the Max Air unit sandwiched in between what looks to be the top of an Air Force 1 midsole and a white rubber outsole, while a mixed-material upper provides a sock collar and closed-toe sandal design.

While some of Nike’s hybrid sneakers have been a hit over the last 12 months or so, more specifically some of the Air Max mashups that proved highly-popular, others have been a miss. With exact release details still to be revealed, stay tuned for further updates.

In the meantime, let us know what you think of Nike’s latest hybrid sneaker and whether the Swoosh has maybe gone too far this time.
