It should be noted that Rina Sawayama's music is not a snack to temporarily fill a void— she is serving us a five course meal with the high quality bops that she ever so generously churns out of the studio and still leaves us starving for more material. Today, the Japanese-British pop star dropped the music video for her latest single "Cherry," an anthem for celebrating pansexuality and a push for representation in regards to the spectrum of human sexuality.

The Isaac Lock-directed visual shows Sawayama in full bloom as she twirls around a studio full of flower petals, large feathers, and a beautiful line of dancers. In a press release, choreographer Joelle Fontain elaborated on the vision for the striking video.

"With this song and creative I specifically casted several POC Queer dancers fully embracing their femininity as that's something you don't see," she said. "So the movement is based around the struggle of coming to terms with what society has told you is wrong, but in the end is a justified feeling."

Sawayama's headlining tour kicks off in Brooklyn, NY at Elsewhere on September 12. Bask in the glow of self-acceptance through the majestic video above.
