Provocative Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier has unveiled the chilling trailer for his latest film, The House That Jack Built. Blending humor and terror in true Von Trier style, the movie stars Matt Dillon as the eponymous serial killer Jack, and follows the five killings that shape his life.

The trailer opens with Jack reeling off an ambiguous confession, not long before he pummels Uma Thurman in the face with a car jack. Open displays of violence, anger, gore, and wry humor feature heavily throughout, playing out to a soundtrack of David Bowie’s “Fame.” Von Trier digs into the mind of the killer via a first-person narrative, exploring Jack’s thoughts on homicide as art, heaven and hell, as well as the childhood experiences that led to his life as a killer.

Dillon and Thurman are joined by Bruno Ganz, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, Riley Keough, Sofie Gråbøl, and Jeremy Davies in the film, which is slated for European release this fall.

Until then, check out the trailer above and drop us a line in the comments with your thoughts on the teaser.

For other movie goodies, the new ‘Predator’ trailer promises to include an intense showdown between man and alien. Watch here
