Increasingly, what sets footwear brands apart from the crowd is the power of their archive. With an ever-growing desire for retro runners, it makes sense that the key to success is located in a warehouse, listed under ‘90s, ‘80s, or ‘70s.

But while some brands have thousands of archive models to pick from, Vans has always had a focused offering. That’s why we were so impressed to see the Vans Style 152 pulled from the archive.

We thought we knew what the Vans archive would feature. A bunch of incredible OG Authentic models, the first Old Skools, some checkerboard Slip-Ons. You get the gist.

To see the Californian company pull out a pair of retro-style runners was a pleasant surprise to say the least.

This slimline running silhouette dates back to 1982 and we couldn’t be happier that we’re being treated to a retooled version for the current day.

Aside from updated fabrics, the main difference between the new version and the original release is the outsole. Now fitted with a heavy-duty tread, the shoe is more substantial cuts a more dramatic silhouette on foot.

Landing in three neutral colorways: black, white, and brown, the Vans Style 152 enters the rotation as a serious all-rounder in perfect time for spring and summer (if even just to challenge every other brand's rip-off of the Authentic...).
