The Suave Suede Return of adidas' Wallabee-Flavored Sneaker
It's that time of year again. adidas has just debuted a new Spezial collection for Spring/Summer 2026, and it includes a "Wallabee" sneaker.
No, this isn't an adidas x Clarks collaboration (Kith already made that happen). Instead, the brand has a model called the Punstock SPZL, which looks like a Clarks Wallabee, a loafer, and a Handball Spezial mashed into one sneaker.
Some fans may remember the Punstock. It debuted in 2018, so it's still pretty young. But back then, the casual model, essentially a different kind of Freizeit, featured an all-leather build. For the 2026 revival, the model wears suede uppers.
Why? According to curators of the SPZL collection, FW25's Lytham boat shoe looks so good with suede that adidas decided to repeat the same materials with the Punstock. And boy, what a good move.
The adidas model is even more suave in suede, complete with its signature sharp flair and perfectly polished metal touches.
Last season brought us all sorts of SPZL treats, like, again, boat shoes and beef-and-broccoli outdoor boots. This spring's SPZL collection feels a lot more laidback, featuring even more casual deep cuts.
In addition to the Punstocks, the offering also includes the Mendocino II, Burnden II, Longride II, Samoa II, and Gralfy II. All the sneakers are expected to drop on adidas' website on April 24.
