The world of footwear is so expansive that there are some boundaries that are hard to bridge. None are as obvious as the one between sneakers and sophisticated leather shoes.

Sneakerheads often avoid dress shoes at all costs, while the classic leather shoe gang wouldn’t be seen dead in a pair of rubber-soled sneakers. Maybe, just maybe, the adidas Superstar Lux Made in Italy is the answer.

Although the adidas Superstar has been around since 1969, it’s had relatively few alterations. While other longtime favorites have been through multiple generations, it’s stayed true to its OG DNA.

So when a new style comes along, it’s got to be good. The adidas Superstar Lux goes above and beyond the call of duty in this regard. Made in Italy to the standard of a leather boot, it’s literally cut from a different cloth.

Taking inspiration from the rugged beauty of work boots, this pair is made by artisans in Italy AKA the home of luxury leather boots.

High-end leather is used throughout the upper, even covering the iconic shell toe which is usually delivered in rubber. Available in both black and brown, each pair is tonal and therefore super minimal.

The stacked leather midsole adds impact to the silhouette, aligning the design even more closely with the construction of a work boot or classic leather shoe. But, a slim rubber outsole offers a fraction more give and more grip, for that comfortable Superstar finish we know and love.
