ASICS’ GEL-Filimy Glacier slip-on shoe is a strapped-up sandal that merges the best parts of a mesh running sneaker and a summer-ready clog. 

Metallic paneling at the shoe’s toe breaks up the monotony of the full mesh upper, while the strappy pull tabs on the upper add to the easy-wearing nature of the shoe. Underfoot, the GEL-Filimy upholds the typically sporty shape of ASICS’ cushy sneaks .

Available on the ASICS website for $96, the GEL-Filimy Glacier sandal lives on the weirder side of the shoe spectrum as far as dad shoes are concerned.

It still has that elderly aura, but the fusion-forward design lends itself to the freaky footwear essence of the moment, where hybrid kicks are everywhere. 

But even though the GEL-Filimy Glacier slip-on is a bit out-there in terms of ASICS sneakers at large, it's not the wildest dad sandal on the market. In fact, ASICS has dibbled and dabbled in full toe-bearing footwear before, like the ASICS GEL-1130 CV, which is a summer-focused reinterpretation of ASICS' GEL-1130 sneaker. 

Comparatively, the GEL-Filimy Glacier slip-on has a lot less going on where the toes are concerned. And toes are like a really big part of the whole weird shoe thing. Just take a look at Nike's famed Air Rift or Vibram's toe-hugging FiveFingers shoe. 

In that respect, ASICS' weirdest clog is still pretty calm.
