New Balance’s Grey GORE-TEX Dad Sneaker Is a Trail-Minded Banger
With New Balance's Grey Days just on the horizon, the brand has begun to line up its gray dad shoes for release. That includes the 1906.
The 1906's Grey Day outfit is pure drip, to say the least. The model once again wears GORE-TEX, which makes the shoes waterproof and even more breathable. But this time the model arrives in a clean "Slate Gray" colorway with splashes of "Raincloud" and "Castlerock," the brand's other trendy grey shades.
Basically, New Balance put the best of its signature color on its stylishly technical dad sneaker. Nice.
Like previous GORE-TEX efforts, the 1906 sneaker also features quick-style adjustable shoelaces, as seen on traditional trail shoes. It basically nails the trail aesthetic again with ease.
Really, the season's been filled with outdoor-minded versions of the 1906, which admittedly looks quite good in outdoor gear. It certainly has a bright future in the wild, if the model ever decides to get serious about its side quests on the trails.
For now, we've got these really nice outdoorsy 1906s now offered in "Slate Gray." The sneakers are slated to drop on New Balance Japan's website for around $170 on May 8.
It's perfect timing, as the sneakers will basically help kick off New Balance's Grey Days. And that's days with an "s," since New Balance felt one day of grey sneakers wasn't enough and made the holiday into a month-long celebration. And rightfully so.
