Nike's Prettified Runner Is the Flyest Ballet Sneaker
Nike cute-ified the Air Superfly. Now, it's a, well, super fly ballet sneaker.
Meet the Air Superfly FMME. It's essentially the aughts running sneaker, but prettier and extremely ballet-coded now. And it comes from a growing family of prettified FMME sneakers, which also includes Miu Miu-coded Air Force 1s and extra meshy Astrograbbers.
The Air Superfly is clearly the ballerina of the family.
The remixed model even features a similar strapped-up lace system, playing on the traditional ballet shoe look. And the Superfly's signature breathable uppers? They're still airy as ever, but they're adorned with decorative cutouts that create a more ornate design.
Nike's Air Superfly sneaker returned in 2025, 24 years after its debut. The model, once known to blaze the tracks, had become a full-fledged fashion shoe. Nike even enlisted fashion brands like Dover Street Market for support in the shoe's newfound fashion era.
Meanwhile, in-house, Nike pushed equally chic general releases, ranging from luxurious fur iterations to trendy color schemes to effortlessly sleek moc models. Now, it's adding a Superfly ballet sneaker to the collection.
Speaking of which, the new Air Superfly FMME "Vast Grey" sneaker is scheduled to release on atmos Japan's website for around $100 on April 17.
